Double and triple j lock in (most of) their 2026 lineups

The ABC‘s Double J and triple j have new and returning faces ready for 2026, with Zan Rowe departing Double J Friday mornings but still hosting Take 5 and a new reboot of Race Around the World for the broadcaster.

For triple j, two new shows were announced at the ABC Upfronts a fortnight ago. Tom Forrest, best known as Outback Tom (main image, left) will have a new country music show called Country Club. A proud First Nations creator, storyteller, and music lover, Tom will broadcast the best of new country every Sunday at 6pm from outback Australia in the Kimberley region of WA. Each week, he’ll showcase the best sounds and stories from local and international country artists. The show will also be simulcast on ABC Country.

Also announced was Doof, the home of Australia’s best electronic music, DJs and Producers. Hosted by DJ and 2025 ARIA Award Red Carpet host Latifa Tee (main image, right), Doof deep dives from Unearthed discoveries to our biggest global exports. Already a familiar voice on triple j, you can hear Latifa and Doof Fridays from 10pm-1am, or anytime on the triple j app.

triple j’s breakfast duo Luka Muller and Concetta Caristo

The entire weekday crew is back too in 2026 featuring triple j Breakfast hosted by Concetta & Luka from 6am-9am, Lucy Smith on Mornings from 9am-12pm, Lunch with Dave Woodhead from 12pm-3pm, and Drive with Abby & Tyrone, starting a half an hour earlier in 2026, from 3pm-5:30pm, leading into Hack with Dave Marchese from 5:30-6pm. From 6pm-7pm it’s another hour of Abby and Tyrone before Anika Luna and Home & Hosed from 7pm-9pm.

All specialist shows continue in their regular time slots too.

On Weekends, Jordan Barr gets an extra hour of sleep starting from 7-11am. Frankie Rowsthorn hosts from 11-2pm and listeners can round out their arvo with Phil Fresh from 2pm. On Sundays Live At The Wireless moves to 7pm, Perfect Sunday kicks off from 8pm with The Hook Up from 9pm.

triple j’s summer programming begins Monday December 15 and 2026’s commences Monday January 5. The full programming schedule is here.

Michael Hing

Double J returns a week later, Monday January 12.

Comedian and former triple j Drive host Michael Hing is back at the helm of Mornings, Monday-Thursday from 9am. Karen Leng returns to Lunch from 12pm, Monday-Friday and Dylan Lewis drives you home on Arvos from 3pm weekdays. Zan Rowe wraps up her time on Friday Mornings. She will continue to host the Take 5 podcast on Double J with a new season and the ABC reboot of Race Around the World. The new host of Friday Mornings won’t be announced until early 2026.

Caz Tran

Weekends, Yumi Stynes starts your days from 8am and Saturday and Sunday afternoons is Classic Albums with Caz Tran.

There are a couple of time adjustments with 00s Night (formerly Friday Night 00s) now at 5pm Friday AND 7pm Saturday (replacing a repeat of Desko with Zan Rowe). Sky High with Hau Latukefu moves to Tuesdays at 7pm with Hau’s The Block Party also moving slightly later to 7pm Fridays. Tower of Song with Henry Wagons, Short Fast Loud with Josh Redbeard both remain in their regular spots.
