There is a familiar voice back behind the microphone in the 2SM newsroom each afternoon.
Geoff Field is back, starting some casual shifts after taking an enforced break from radio last year when Covid caused 2SER to cut back staff numbers.
Geoff had spent four decades on air, most of which involved early starts on breakfast radio.
The former Kyle & Jackie O newsreader left 2DayFM in 2016 to take up more of a teaching role as News Director of 2SER, before taking time off.
He says, “A few weeks ago 2SM News Director Dianne Coveny Garland contacted me and asked if I could work some shifts over the next few weeks.”
“I’m enjoying being back in a newsroom, but I’m not sure whether I want to eventually return to news reading or maybe teaching.”
