GetUp campaigns against ABC cuts

Advocacy group GetUp has begun a campaign to remind Tony Abbot about his pre-election promise not to cut the ABC or SBS.

Following this week’s budget, the campaign has expanded to also include education and health.

GetUp gathered supporters to form a human ABC logo, which it is now using as a banner on its twitter page, and has also bought mobile outdoor advertising to get its message across.

An online petition, which has avoided using the ‘L’ word by talking about ‘broken promises,’ has enlisted over quarter of a million signatures so far in support of the campaign.
