hit92.9’s Heidi, Will and Woody may just be responsible for crowd sourcing the world’s first baby.

Just before easter, the Perth breakfast team spread the word that there was a shortage of female eggs and so they put the call out for women to come forward and donate.  They received a massive reponse as hundreds of women emailed the show wanting to be a part of the campaign and help raise awareness.  hit92.9 even held an information night.

What happened next was unexpected.  Over the last 2 weeks, the station has been able to put two women in touch with each other – one donor, and one family wanting to have a child.

Nick and Sharron Chalwell from Perth were put in touch with Shannon, who came forward as wanting to helping the couple.  

Channel 7’s Sunrise spoke to Nick, Sharron and Shannon this morning.
