Mix 106.3 still on top in Canberra, ABC surges: GfK Survey 3

After an extraordinary Survey 2, Mix 106.3 is still No 1 in Canberra, but with big drops in all day parts and particularly the 10-17 and 40-54 demographics.

For all audiences 10+

  • Mix 106.3 down 4.2 to 21.6 (down 8.6 and 11.1 in the 10-17 and 40-54 demographics)
  • Hit 104.7 up 0.8 to 15.5 (up 12.0 in people 10-17)
  • ABC Canberra up 1.9 to 13.0 (growth in 18-64 age groups)
  • triple j up 1.1 to 7.6 (biggest growth in people 25-39)

ABC and Mix’s stablemate Hit will be very happy with the rebuild in ratings after listening audiences settled into new lineups.

Mix’s Kristen and Nige are still well on top in breakfast, but their 4.6 loss means that Hit and the ABC have closed the gap with ABC Canberra’s Adam Shirley second now and up 1.4 to 13.7 and Hit’s Ned and Josh up 1.0 just behind at 13.5. Similarly the ABC’s Lish Fejer has moved to second in mornings, up 2.8 to 16.3. Ray Hadley on 2CC was also up 3.4 to 8.4.

Classic hits station 2CA had a good survey, up in all day parts, except evenings and weekends, affected at those times by sporting coverage elsewhere.

Cumulative audiences were steady with Mix seeing small drops and ABC Canberra the greatest gains.
