Rupert Murdoch to Deliver 2008 Boyer Lectures on Radio National

Australia’s most successful businessman, News Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive officer, Rupert Murdoch AC, will deliver ABC Radio National’s 2008 Boyer Lecture series titled A Golden Age of Freedom.

Mr Murdoch will present the first of his six lectures at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 2 November 2008.

In his first lecture Mr Murdoch will reflect on this time as one of great transformation; predicting a golden age of freedom which will unleash a new global middle class bringing greater prosperity to billions around the world. But to reap the rewards Australia needs to tackle three areas with haste: the welfare state; failing state schools; and full reconciliation among all Australians.

Mr Murdoch’s address will be recorded in front of a live audience at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 2 November and heard first on ABC Radio National’s Big Ideas at 5pm. The lecture will later be broadcast on ABC TV.

The lectures will also be available as audio on demand and podcasts at abc.net.au/rn/boyerlectures
