At the start of 2018 Crocmedia merged with Pacific Star Network (PNW) to become what is now the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN). Viburnum Funds Pty Ltd, then a 19.5% PNW shareholder, cornerstoned the share placement with an $8.25 million investment. Co-founder and Managing Partner of Vibernum Craig Coleman is the current Board Chairman of SEN.
According to The Australian (subscription required) SEN and Vibernum Funds are mounting a $28m takeover bid for the radio arm of the Nine Entertainment, the top rating Sydney talk stations 2GB and Melbourne’s 3AW, plus 6PR in Perth and 4BC in Brisbane.
And perhaps too the classic hits AM stations currently leased by Nine to the ACE Radio Network, 2UE, Magic 1278 in Melbourne, and 4BH 1116. Although, SEN has tried that before, before accepting that sports was the network’s forte.
It seems like waterfront property that’s gone to auction with all the other bidders warned there’ll be an obstruction to the view in the future.
In the meantime it is business as normal for the other SEN stations across the country, with a few notable additions. Regular programming commenced today, Tuesday January 27. In Sydney, Adam Peacock has been poached from a regular role with Triple M. Andrew Voss shifts from Breakfast to mornings.

Kane Cornes too will front a new show called Locked In heard across the SEN network between 5 and 6pm AEST / 4.30 and 5.30pm AEST Tuesdays to Thursdays, including being broadcast live from the ground ahead of Thursday night football.

But, now the dust has settled on the BBL, the Ashes, and before the Australian Open tennis finishes and the AFL and NRL seasons begin, we wait to see who ends up with Nine Radio. And the outcome for talk, classic hits and other stations owned by the eventual buyer.
Place your bets.
