Steph Liong is 2SER’s new Music Director.

Steph Liong has been at 2SER as Acting Music Director, but has now taken up the role in an official capacity, and having worked within the music industry in Australia and abroad, Steph brings a wealth of knowledge to the station continuing to give the station a fresh perspective when it comes to music programming and content.

Steph says, “It’s been an incredible joy filling in as Music Director for the past 16 months, and a huge honour to now take on the role in an ongoing capacity. Since first volunteering at 2SER 9 years ago, the station and its community has held a special spot in my heart – continually schooling me in not only music, but news and current affairs. I’m beyond excited to help ring in the station’s 40th birthday in October, and uphold 2SER’s long history in bringing diverse music programming.”

2SER Managing Director, Martin Walters is delighted with the appointment and says that “Along with Steph’s extensive musical knowledge and passion, she brings strong values and commitment to this leadership role, and will be a huge asset for our station and audience. We’d also like to pay tribute to outgoing longstanding Music Director Andrew Khedoori, who continues working in community broadcasting, leading CBAA‘s Amrap Initiative, and remains a close friend of 2SER.”

For almost 40 years, 2SER has provided Sydney with specialist music, news, opinion and current affairs programs that offer a unique insight into alternative culture and ideas that are largely ignored by the mainstream.
