Sunshine FM’s Graham Webb celebrates 70th birthday

This week has seen a milestone for media personality Graham Webb, who turns 70 years of age. Webb, a veteran tv and radio presenter, is still working in radio as program director of Sunshine Coast station Sunshine FM.

Sunshine’s David Claimer has told radioinfo: ”I would like to wish Graham a very Happy Birthday and thank him for his tireless work as Programme Director of the Station. We all know the hours and professional skill he brings to Sunshine FM and the thousands of listeners he entertains each and every morning on his breakfast show.”

Webb has had his family up for Easter to celebrate his birthday, including son Byron Webb who is also a well known radio personality.

Webb worked for Radio Monte Carlo, Radio Norway and the Voice of Germany before ending up on Radio Caroline South in May 1965. After a time as a DJ, with a show called Cobweb Corner, he became news director for the Caroline network organising the Newsbeat bulletins for both ships. After his time at sea Graham Webb returned home where he had a successful radio and television career, including presenting Blind Date. He was also heard again on British radio when he introduced the Australian segment of World Wide Family Favourites on BBC Radio Two.
