Survey 1 cumes: Ben, Liam and Belle grew Nova 100 audience before handing over the reigns

The first GFK survey of 2024 is in, and while Ben Fordham took back the number #1 spot in terms of share, Kyle and Jackie O continued their dominance in cumulative audience for Sydney.

However, for KIIS 101.1 in Melbourne, getting Kyle and Jackie O on-air could not come sooner, with temporary host Byron Cooke shedding 148k listeners during his fill-in period which also impacted KIIS 101.1’s overall figures – sliding 102k.

The biggest mover in the top 10 breakfast shows was Ben, Liam and Belle – who were still on breakfast during the survey period, but have now moved to ‘Late Drive’ to make way for Jason Hawkins and Lauren Phillips who were axed by KIIS to make way for Kyle & Jackie O. They gained 77k listeners for the timeslot, contributing to Nova 100 putting on 103k cumulative listeners, which should give Jason and Lauren a strong tailwind.

Smooth 91.5 also slid sharply in Melbourne, shedding 106k listeners.

Triple J saw its usual Survey 1 bump in audience, coinciding with the Hottest 100 countdown, adding 137k in Sydney and 50k in Melbourne.

The survey was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between Sun Jan 14 to Sat Feb 24, 2024
