TV themes hit the Wall after short run

Apart from managing three radio stations over many years (ABC702, SBS and 2MBS), Peter Wall has been a prolific writer of television and radio themes and jingles, writing long running themes for ABC News, the 7.30 Report, Lateline, Channel 10 News and more. But the two most recent themes he has written have not had the same longevity. They were for Sunday Night on 7 and THIS Afternoon on 9, both programs have now been axed.

Listen to the Sunday Night and THIS Afternoon themes here.

These days Wall runs his own media management agency called Wall Media, representing radio talent Dr John D’Arcy, Ian Rogerson, Philip Clark, Lyndey Milan and Lisa Forrest and others.

For over 20 years Peter Wall collaborated with renowned Sydney musician Tony Ansell. Hear some of their work here. Sadly Ansell succumbed to cancer some years ago and Wall gave up composing. Recently he decided to get back into the game and found a new collaborator, another acclaimed musician, Clive Lendich.

After getting back in the saddle again, Wall hung out his shingle and almost immediately had takers. The new channel 7 and 9 programs were two of them. Both lasted a matter of weeks and were canned. Some people have all the luck!
