Video: Kyle and Sponsors help Homeless Woman

A 21-year-old woman who has been homeless since she was 10-years-old has received help from Southern Cross Austereo and Kyle Sandilands personally.

“What we do here is we have a lot of resources – we have a lot of businesses and a lot of friends that we can call up and, and tell [them] someone’s stories, and pretty much con them [into giving us money],” said Sandilands, jokingly.

Sponsors of the show helped the woman. Snooze donated a bed, linen and manchester. House gave the woman a kitchen starter kit, including cutlery and cookware.

Webjet and Virgin Australia gave the woman a holiday for two people in Phuket, and Kyle personally gave the girl $1000 spending money.

Then Kyle reflected on his years as a homeless youth, and decided to personally fund a rental house for the woman.

“You seem like the sort of girl who will do anything to fix your situation. This hasn’t been organized, but I’m going to rent you a place to live in myself. The first time I had my own place, I felt like a king,” said Kyle.

“All these lovely businesses that have helped us out to donate stuff…you just feel like you’ve climbed to the top of the ladder, and then you can do anything from there.”

Some responses on Twitter have been skepitcal of Sandilands’ motives in this affair.
