Market leader i98 is the big winner in the latest Wollongong survey, released today. The market leader recorded a 5.5 share point increase and is now more than ten points ahead of Wave FM, which slipped slightly, but easily held second place, ahead of ABC Local Radio’s 97.3.

i98 scored 28.5% overall, with increases in most demographics, notably 10-17s. Breakfast pair Marty and Bianca increased their breakfast share by 6 points. i98 won all shifts again this survey. General Manager Jason Saladino tols radioinfo: “This outstanding result represents the hard work, skill and dedication of the entire staff who strive to produce quality local content every day and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside them. We have announcers who are genuine local personalities within the community, each of them an individual and each with their own unique appeal.”

Wave FM slipped by 0.6 share points to 17.3%, with a significant fall in the stations 55-64 demographic. Drive with Clarkey and Jade, recorded the biggest lift for the station, with mornings also strong.

FM97.3 the ABC’s local station, dropped by 3.6 share points to 11.4%, recording falls in all demographics except 25-39s. All shifts fell this survey, with evenings and breakfast the strongest for the station.

A number of other stations are heard in the Illawarra, including Nowa’s Power FM on 1.6% (down 1.8). Most notable of the Sydney stations heard in the survey area includes 2DAY, which had an increase of 1.0 and ABC Classic FM, which dropped 1.1.
