9News Queensland presenter Melissa Downes and Nine Producer Jess Lodge have launched a six-part podcast series called ‘Hannah’s Story’. It explores of the murder of Hannah Clarke and her three children at the hands of Hannah’s estranged husband, the children’s father in February 2020 and the nationwide anger and conversation around coercive control that resulted.

An introduction to the podcast was released May 9. The first two episodes launched on Monday 22 May, with a new episode each week.

Downes was one of the reporters covering the story of Hannah and her children that day and hopes this podcast can help help spread the important messages that Hannah’s parents, Sue and Lloyd, advocate through their organisation, Small Steps 4 Hannah.

Through the six episodes Downes speaks to family, friends, first responders, witnesses, domestic violence experts and political leaders to help protect victims.
