7 October 2021 Nine Radio has recorded a dominant performance in the latest survey, with Sydney's 2GB and Melbourne's 3AW clear winners. Talkback station 2GB said it had recorded its highest ratings since the latest measurements began in 2004 with a station share of 16.4 per cent. Melbourne's 3AW recorded a station share of 18.1 per cent.
7 October 2021 AM talk radio stations 2GB and ABC Sydney have seen their audience shares surge to record numbers in the latest Sydney radio ratings. 2GB (part of Nine, which also owns this masthead) saw its overall audience share increase to 16.4 per cent (up 1.2 percentage points). That station said the result was its highest ratings since 2004.
6 October 2021 The heads of the local Radio Khyber Nawekht in Afghanistan's Laghman province have claimed that a local commander affiliated with the Taliban stormed into the station's compound and took control of it after the fall of the former Ashraf Ghani government.

30 September 2021 CNN said it is preventing Australians from accessing its Facebook pages after a court ruled that publishers can be liable for defamation in public comment sections and the social media firm refused to help it disable comments in the country.
22 September 2021 Phil Valentine, a prominent Tennessee rightwing talk radio host, had released a song called Vaxman, an anti-Covid vaccination ditty based on the Beatles track Taxman. Marc Bernier, a host in Daytona Beach, Florida, had declared himself “Mr Anti-Vax”. Dick Farrel, also from Florida, urged his listeners not to get vaccinated, and Jimmy DeYoung asked on air whether the vaccine could be a “form of government control of the people”. All four men died in August of coronavirus. A fifth conservative radio host, Bob Enyart, died on 13 September, weeks after he told his listeners to boycott vaccines that were “immorally developed”.
22 September 2021 Broadcasting entrepreneur and philanthropist Allan Slaight, who built and sold a media empire and helped bring satellite radio and the NBA to Canada, died peacefully at home in Toronto on Sunday (Sept. 19). He was 90.
