GfK Radio 360 Survey 7 preview

UPDATE: Results now available here.

GfK Radio 360 Survey 7 is out this morning, November 25, at 9:30am. It was measured between Sunday August 24 – Saturday September 27 and Sunday October 5 to Saturday November 8. It will be the last survey results for metro radio released this year after Commercial Radio & Audio (CRA) changed the date of Survey 8, measured from Sunday October 5 to Saturday December 13, to be released on January 20, 2026, once metro teams return from their Christmas breaks.

The first part of Survey 7 includes the pointy end of NRL and AFL seasons, which often benefits stations and networks like 2GB, Triple M and SEN. The second part will includes the start of the end of year show wrap ups and changes, of which Brisbane has borne the brunt of the most of the five metro cities surveyed.

It was announced on October 29 at the ARN Upfronts that Corey Oates, Robin Bailey and Kip Wightman (main image L-R) would be replaced on KIIS 97.3 breakfast by Craig ‘Lowie’ Low. Robin, Kip and Corey‘s departure was revealed the week earlier. While the timing is not likely to dramatically impact the trio’s results this survey, I would imagine that they would see a spike upwards in Survey 8. They sat 5th in Survey 6, but the Brisbane radio race is a very tight one indeed and it would only take a 3% increase to get very close to top spot.

Since the Upfront Lowie has gone to ground. After a couple of media responses he’s not popped up on socials and deleted his Linkedin account. Contrary to that is Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small who, at the same event, was announced to be joining the KIIS Network with The Smallzy Show, airing nationally from 3-4pm weekdays and a night edition from 7-9pm. He and show producer Zach La Cava were last night heading up a screening of Wicked: For Good at IMAX Sydney. Kent told the crowd that one of the stars of the film was “hanging outside the cinema” and then, to the delight of the audience, Johnathan Bailey walked in!

4BC in Brisbane has had a total overhaul as well with five of the seven weekday shows new in 2026. With Nine Radio rumoured to be for sale, the results for 4BC and 6PR in Perth, both who have struggled this year when compared to 2GB in Sydney and 3AW in Melbourne, the latter having an exceptional Survey 6, will be closely monitored by potential buyers.

The Nova Network have been the quietest this radio silly season, if you don’t include Smallzy and Ben, Liam and Belle on Late Drive’s departures. The latter are also shifting to ARN and breakfast on Mix 102.3 Adelaide (renamed KIIS 102.3 next year too), replacing Max Burford and Hayley Pearson. There have been persistent rumours about Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova 969 in Sydney. Since Kate Ritchie’s return from a mental health break, their ratings have been strong, but that doesn’t mean that Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli, who has had a defining year of impact personally, might be looking at new opportunities. He is already using his Christmas radio downtime to host Today on the 9Network with Sam Armytage.

There’s also talk that Nick Allen-Ducat, the Ducko of Jess and Ducko for the Hit Network in NSW is also heading back to home to Queensland after he shared he was leaving the Hit Network. Where he might slot in next year remains to be seen.

Finally, any survey talk wouldn’t be complete without some mention of the KIIS Network’s Kyle and Jackie O and their ongoing battle to win over Melbourne. They will want to at least be steady in that market and stem the big drop last survey in Sydney. With this too being the second to last for Jonesy and Amanda on ARN sister station Gold 101.7 breakfast before they shift to Drive, they’ll also want to go out on a high, but at the same time, a big high might make Christian O’Connell‘s debut next year into both markets a high bar to maintain.
