Grant Tothill leaving Southern Cross Austereo

Grant Tothill is stepping down from his role as Executive Head, LiSTNR Operations and Audience at SCA, but will remain as a part time consultant to LiSTNR.

He said in a memo to his colleagues:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey from the start of PodcastOne to LiSTNR. To see LiSTNR have the success it has is testament to all the brilliant people that I have been fortunate enough to work with everyday across many years.

“Back in 2016 Grant Blackley and John Kelly believed in podcasting and a digital audio future. I cannot thank them enough for all their trust, mentorship, friendship and belief. Their ongoing investment and support allowed us to play a major role in spearheading a new commercial podcast industry in Australia. For that I’m extremely grateful and proud of what has been achieved.

“I take on my next chapter knowing a strong foundation has been laid, confident the LiSTNR leadership team along with its emerging leaders, will continue to drive LiSTNR to even greater success.”

Tothill was promoted to his new position earlier this year, which was a larger role than he had previously as leader of the podcast division.

‘Totters’ began in on air and programming  roles at Austereo, then left to work in a marketing role with Sony Music. He rejoined SCA in 2010 and has since held senior roles shaping podcasting and audio innovation, including Director of Entertainment and Content Solutions, Executive Head of Podcasting.
