There wasn’t a lot of change in who hold poll position in DAB+ cume audience in GfK Radio 360 Survey 4, 2026 with CADA top in Sydney for ARN, DANCE HITS for SCA in Melbourne and smooth FM for Nova Entertainment in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, as per Survey 3. But there was some interesting developments, possibly attibutable to significant upheaval in the Sydney and Melbourne radio markets.
Bunnings Tradio, a partnership between Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) and Bunnings launched at the start of the survey meaurement period on April 19, and formally on April 30. You can hear it anywhere via the SEN app, with it also available on DAB+ in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
For a first outing it was a pretty solid effort. Structurally sound, as a tradie might say. 65,000 cume audience across the three cities. SCA’s Heart and Heart Hits which were launched late last year to compete with smooth, are also building, Heart Hits more so.
ARN will also be tracking their KIIS station in Perth and GOLD ones in Brisbane and Adelaide, which were to increase the reach of Kyle and Jackie O and Christian O’Connell respectively. All have small audiences. Brisbane, who are spoiled for choice on the DAB dial, saw some of those who had checked out the breakfast show drop away.
Brisbane will also get a new DAB+ entry from NZ station The Rock. I suspect that Nova Entertainment have tried for long enough to get a footing with their Nova Fresh Country in a market with three other country music digital alternatives and it may vanish as a result.
The most significant detail from DAB+ cume audience in Survey 4 is how much Sydney is embracing it. There’s some 250K additional listeners from this time last year. Melbourne is not up quite as much and the other cities not at all. This suggests that not only are listeners who might have chosen Jonesy and Amanda or Kyle and Jackie O last year scanning the regular radio dial, they’re checking out DAB+ too.
Sydney had five stations with above 100K cume audience – CADA, Coles Radio, DANCE HITS, KIIS 90s and ABC Sports. The 115K cume audience is the best result ever for ABC Sports. Melbourne had three – DANCE HITS, Coles Radio, Gold 80s and smooth Vintage thereabouts too.
