A radio star for NOVA Entertainment will return to the airwaves on Monday May 5 after an extended and unexplained break from their show.
Nathan Morris, one third of Perth’s Nova 93.7‘s breakfast team with Nat and Shaun (Nat Locke and Shaun McManus) has been notably absent for two months now, missing Survey 2 results which came out last Thursday May 1 where the station was No 1 in the city and Nath, Nat and Shaun had an amazing 21.7% breakfast audience share and a cume that was ahead of Sydney’s Gold 101.7 and Triple M breakfast shows. They have been No 1 in the market for more than seven years.
This has been a different year for radio personalities in Australia with explained an unexplained absences across all networks which normally would never happen, especially during survey.
- Nova 96.9 Sydney’s Kate Ritchie has also been away for three months now to deal with her health and mental health with no word yet on her return
- In Perth as well SCA’s Kymba Cahill returned to her Mix 94.5 breakfast show this week and explained her several weeks off to deal with the effects on online bullying.
- Triple M Sydney’s new this year breakfast show has had Beau Ryan absent filming The Amazing Race. Brendan Fevola has been missing from The Fox FM in Melbourne for the same reason.
- Kyle Sandilands for ARN has flagged more potential time off ahead after some major health news.
There’s but a few with Nath, Nat and Shaun’s personal page teasing Nathan’s return (see below), not the station one, and in a bright and breezy fashion.
Nath is, reading the listener comments on their page, a much loved member of this popular breakfast team. Their cumulative listener gains in Survey 2 are likely impacted by people checking in across the morning to get an update on whether he is there, or whether an explanation is offered as to why not.
We shall find out tomorrow. As to the penny farthing reference, you can revisit that story below.
