Updated: Alan Jones arrested and charged with indecent assault and sexual touching offences

Alan Jones has been arrested and charged after a nine month investigation into alleged indecent assault and sexual touching offences that occurred between 2001 and 2019.

State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad established Strike Force Bonnefin in March this year. NSW Police say Jones was charged on Monday November 18 with a total of 24 offences against eight victims, including 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault- victim under authority of offender, nine counts of assault with act of indecency, two counts of sexually touch another person without consent and two counts of common assault.

Jones retired from his role presenting 2GB breakfast in 2020 before a short foray on TV’s Sky News. In more recent times Jones has sold property and other assets and seen former colleagues distance themselves from him. Jones has, through his lawyers, vehemently denied the allegations.

Conditional bail was granted with Jones to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 18 December 2024.
